XPENG launches the L03 in Pakistan with a range extender at Rs11.5 million
The Chinese carmaker is selling the L03 compact SUV as a range extended hybrid and as a battery electric, and says its larger G9L flagship follows in November.

XPENG launched the L03 in Pakistan on 12 October, selling the compact SUV in two versions: a range extended hybrid, which the company calls a REEV, and a fully electric Long Range model.
Ex factory prices are Rs11.5 million for the REEV and Rs12.2 million for the battery electric. Freight, taxes and registration charges come on top. Bookings opened in July, when the pre launch price for the REEV was Rs10.7 million and XPENG said prices would rise once deliveries began. Pre bookings ran through XPENG's experience centres in Islamabad and Lahore.
Two ways to charge
The REEV pairs a 1.5 litre petrol engine, used as a generator, with a 37.25 kWh battery. XPENG claims 250 kilometres of electric driving and up to about 1,150 kilometres in total on the CLTC test cycle. Fast charging reaches 123 kW, and the company says most of the battery returns in about 20 minutes under suitable conditions.
The battery electric version drops the engine and claims up to 520 kilometres on one charge. Both versions drive the rear wheels. The electric model gets a front boot, which the REEV gives up to its range extender hardware.
The car measures 4,650 millimetres long and 1,920 millimetres wide, with a 2,850 millimetre wheelbase and 539 litres of luggage space. Inside are a 15.6 inch central screen, a 26.8 inch head up display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Bluetooth digital key and a panoramic glass roof.
A bigger car next month
At the same event, XPENG said the G9L, a large flagship SUV, will launch in Pakistan next month. The G9L went on sale in China in September and had its global launch at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October, where the European version starts at €74,990 in France.
The G9L is a far larger car than the L03. The European version is 5,120 millimetres long with a 3,100 millimetre wheelbase, runs on an 800 volt system and peaks at 540 kW on a DC charger. XPENG says it can go from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 11.7 minutes in suitable conditions, and that it carries nine airbags as standard in Europe. That version has a 110 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 591 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. The China range extender version claims 1,602 kilometres combined on the CLTC cycle.
XPENG has not said which powertrain, equipment or price Pakistan will get.
